Joe McEnhill
B.D.S MFDS RCSEd AdvDipImpDentRCS (Eng) FICD FCGDent. GDC No. 77972
Joe qualified from Queen’s University, Belfast, in 2000. He then relocated to Manchester to continue his education within the primary care field. After developing a keen interest in dental surgery, Joe joined a leading Manchester maxillo-facial unit enabling him to participate in major reconstructive surgery, notably by employing dental implants.
He has been working in private practice since 2006 and has a special interest in oral surgery and dental implants. He is passionate about restoring patient’s bite function and smiles. Whilst patients are often interested in making their teeth look well, their main function is to chew comfortably and efficiently.
He has continued with his postgraduate training, achieving an advanced Diploma in Implant Dentistry awarded by the Royal College of Surgeons in England in 2008. In 2017 Joe was privileged to be inducted as a Fellow of the International College of Dentistry and subsequent to this inducted as a Fellow in the College of General Dentistry in 2024.
Joe runs an oral surgery course in Fermanagh designed to improve general dentist’s confidence in managing extractions and their complications. He acts as a mentor for the Smilefast implant course and to individual dentists. He has been the Northern Ireland representative for the Association of Dental Implantology from 2021-2024, hosting study clubs in Belfast 3-4 times a year. Joe is now a Key Opinion Leader for Biohorizons Camlog implant company
Joe is not one to sit still and is always looking to learn the latest techniques. In the age of digital dentistry, we can now use computer technology to not only design teeth but to also manufacture them on site within a few hours. Joe uses a digitally designed smile process that allows him to use a series of photos and videos to create the perfect smile without even touching the teeth. Patients can therefore get a preview of their final smile before even embarking on the treatment journey.
Dentistry is a fast moving and fascinating discipline and Joe now employs Artificial Intelligence to help with smile and tooth design, but also in the diagnosis of diseases affecting the mouth.
